How did you get involved in the mortgage industry?
I was the top performer in our consumer lending department three years ago and was asked to take a mortgage position as soon as one vacated. I fell in love with the industry, and never looked back!

What is the biggest challenge or opportunity you have seen in the mortgage industry?
The biggest opportunity is getting to work with First Time Home Buyers, it’s truly a “feel good” experience and I enjoy every moment of it.

What advice would you give people just entering the industry?
Do NOT get discouraged; connections will come, keep networking and building your professional resume/profile. It can take time to build your pipeline but once you show your dedication and expertise you will see your business grow exponentially.

Do you have a quick tip for saving time, generating leads, tracking information, etc. that you would like to share?
Create folders in your email for every application; your memory is NOT as great as you think it is. Also utilize folders to keep track of leads and monitor them every 30-days to stay top of mind. Provide weekly updates to realtors / all parties involved in a purchase transaction to make sure you keep lines of communication open and NEVER miss a contingency date.

When you are not at work, what do you like to do most?
Not at work—when is that?! I enjoy being active, I play softball and volleyball as much as I can in my free time and enjoy spending time with my husband, Tucker, and mini golden doodle, Carlos.

What is a quote or a guiding principle you live by?
Never let the fear of striking out stop you from swinging.
