Joe Lickteig

How did you get involved in the mortgage industry?
I took my first job order from Pulte Mortgage on Christmas Eve of 2000 in Denver searching for processors. I worked for a different company then (placement service in Denver, CO.) I was active in home lending search for the next two years until I started my own company in 2002, and I have been doing this ever since.

What is the biggest challenge or opportunity you have seen in the mortgage industry?
Supporting the pains and frustrations of producers. Bank mergers are also challenging as it relates to the impact it has on home lending leadership.

What advice would you give people just entering the industry?
Find a long term fit and don’t move (which is odd for a search firm guy to say, but….!)

Do you have a quick tip for saving time, generating leads, tracking information, etc. that you would like to share?
Spend time on and with the right people and the right activities.

When you are not at work, what do you like to do most?
Support my kids, supporting persons with disabilities, and I am an active member of the Knights of Columbus.

What is a quote or a guiding principle you live by?
Love your neighbor like yourself.
